Think BLUE

Baseball is back in action starting on Thursday, as the boys in blue face the their biggest rivals, and last years World Series Champs the SF Giants.

Clayton Kershaw will be our Opening Day Starter, he has looked good in the spring.  The 23-year-old's final spring line shows seven earned runs allowed in 25 1/3 innings, an ERA of 2.49. He issued six walks with 20 strikeouts.  Kershaw did a little prep work on Sat posting 3 no hit innings as he prepared his out look just for the Giants.  "Instead of working on things, I'll be more focused on the team I'm facing. I'll go based on what I'm [going to] see from the Giants," Kershaw said after having set up the Dodgers' 5-4 win over the Padres.  Kershaw sounds like he is ready to go into BEAST MODE!

Go Big Blue, good luck on the 2011 Baseball Season.

UA vs. UCONN Elite 8 Matchup

How you feeling after that Duke Win?
Tucson is ready to shout from the top of A Mountain. We're BACK!!!

Cats have had some big wins this year lets, lets recap.  Of course the latest and greatest 16 pt. take down of Duke, Texas, Memphis, and do you remember the white out game?  Where will today's game vs. UConn go down in the UA 2011 Basketball season?

We need Mo-Mo and Foggie to have a big game as they head up against Kemba Walker and his Husky's.  Possible player of the year Kemba looks to take his team to the final four over Arizona.  We have been lucky this year to play against the best players in the country.  Coach Miller has prepared our team to take on another big challenge.

This will be the first time we face the Husky's in the tourney.  Zona and UConn have matched up 4 times in there history with UConn taking all four.  We are due to take at least one win vs them.  The team is confident, the team is prepared, and the team is battle tested.  This season is shaping up to be one of UA most special. A Final Four appearance will be the cherry on top.

Good Luck Cat's.

Cats Advance to Elite 8 That's right MFer's the Elite 8

The wildcat faithfull are feeling the same way D. Will feels, when he thump his fist against his chest. Are you kidding me? D. Will with the biggest first half of the Tourney, he alone killed Duke.  Everything I said in the sleep easy post came true.  D. Will could not be stopped, the crowd was amazing, and the bench outscore Duke. Our depth took advantage of Duke.  This was a big time win.

When did we take the game?

Was back in the first half when D. Will had 4 three pointers and one huge dunk?  When do we lose when this happens?

Was it at the 13:00 min mark when all of Tucson started to look at the clock and said "Damn don't blow this"?

Was it when B. Lavender had a dunk? Did he dunk all season?

Was when at the 3:00 min mark, we had 90 pts? How many games have we lost when we score 90?

Was it when at the 2:00 min mark, Duke walked up the ball up court, basically giving up?  When have you seen Duke give up?  We broke them emotionally.

Today is a great day to be a Wildcat Basketball Fan and you can go to work on Friday and thump your chest like D. Will. You can wake up on Sat.and wear your red UA shirt and feel good all day, knowing that we belong in the Elite 8.

Arizona Basketball-I'm Coming Home

ZONA vs. DUKE

For the Arizona fan that is worried about the game vs. Duke.  Read the following, and you might sleep better tonight. Her is why we are going to win:

5. D. Will-Arizona has Derrick Williams, and Duke will not be able to match up anybody against him, he is 15 minutes from his home and he is ready to put on a show after not having such a hot night in his last trip to SoCal and his last game vs. NCAA Tourney game vs. TX.

4. On top of our Game-All of our roll players are peaking at the right time.  When you look back at the team that wins it all you can point to them peaking at the right time, and Arizona is definitely doing this.  Mayes and Hill are coming off of their biggest games of the year, and they to are playing a home game as they to also grew up in SoCal.

3. Home crowd-K. Fogg and A. Jacobson will also be close to home.  You know that no one in the building will be rooting for Duke.  The only blue that can be worn on the west cost is Dodger Blue, no one on this side of Dick Vitales brown nose for Duke cares about Duke basketball! You will hear people actively root against Duke. Lets all say it together "Beat Coach K, Beat Coach K, Beat Coach K".

2. Let your hair down-Not to say we are happy to just be there, but we are happy to just be there.  Duke has more to lose as they have been in the top 3 all year and are expected to win.  Arizona can play at a more reckless pace and not have the same choked up feeling if the game gets close.

1. Blast Off, Game Time-We have the big man, we have the team peaking, we have the crowd and we have played good in close games (and won).  BEARDOWN ARIZONA!  See you on Sat.

UA vs Duke Where to Go?

Where to go for the game?  Let's get some options going.  We could go to someones house or we could go to one of our local establishments.  I will throw out a few darts at the board and see what sticks.  Comment below on where you think the best place is, to watch the big game.  Around campus: Frog & Frikin, 1702, Trident, My G-Ma's House.  The atmosphere around campus is always fun and exciting, but at times it is hard to focus on the game with a bunch of other people around.  It is a school night, but we could go to my house or someone pimp pad.  Some of my personal faves, and where I will be placing my vote for are Fox and Hound, Taste of Texas (awesome bar & close to home), World Sports Grill (Biggest Plasma in Town) and of course my couch.

Let me know what you think?  Where should we hang out for the big game?

Swag is riding High

Cats ready to move one step closer to another final 4 appearance.  UA will face Texas this afternoon and with a win the city of Tucson, will be sent into full fledged March Madness.  So far we have just scraped by with a bunch of close wins, true this makes us game tough, but lets face it we could use a big time rout.  How does a 87-64 win over the Longhorns sound?  We have had some trouble stepping on the throat of other teams, and finishing out strong.  Today we will put is all together and hammer out one of our biggest wins of the year.
Go CATS time pack your bags for the elight eight.
